All PhD projects are interregional and cross‑border, with fellows benefiting from having two supervisors (a principal supervisor and a co‑supervisor) from different regions.

Supervision is organised according to the European Charter for Researchers standards, including clear duties, regular meetings and documented follow‑up.
Supervisors’ main tasks include co‑designing the Career Development Plan, holding regular supervision meetings to review scientific progress and ensuring that fellows access necessary facilities, training and mobility.
Co‑supervisors (academic and non‑academic) support the fellow during mobilities and coordinate with the main supervisor.
For cotutelle cases:
Fellows are registered in two doctoral schools (the degree‑awarding institutions on each side of the arrangement).
Administrative protocols follow the existing agreements of the partner institutions and are harmonised as far as possible.
36 or 48‑month durations are compatible with double‑degree requirements, so that all co‑tutelle PhDs can be completed within the project lifetime.
